To get an insight into Nuala and Don’s work, you can read some testimonials from clients who have experienced a range of their services and wanted to share their story:
Banking Industry As a newcomer to the notion of tapping, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but it’s been a About a year ago my activities were considerably curtailed for six months or so as a result of a “silly” fall. I am in my eighties and was told that it was probably caused by the loss of sense of balance as one gets older. I wasn’t prepared to accept such a defeatist attitude and signed up with Don White for a course of Alexander Technique instruction. It is taking many months to alter the postural habits of a lifetime but I am beginning to enjoy more control than I have ever had over my freedom of movement and comfortable balance. The teaching has also made me aware of the neatest and easiest way of carrying out all the everyday movements of life such as sitting, standing, walking or lifting. In answer to the question “What can you expect at your age?” I would say that by studying the Alexander Technique I can expect to feel wonderful, better than ever before in my life. I only wish I had had that salutory fall seventy years ago. I first heard of this technique from a horse riding magazine, which ran several articles on the subject, detailing how better balance and posture could improve one’s position on a horse. Being a keen and regular rider, this seemed particularly relevant, and having a bad back (as with most riders!), this led me to booking a series of lessons. Following a string of unsuccessful job interviews, I approached Nuala for help preparing for my next interview. Such were the resultant improvements to my both preparation and interview technique, that I not only got the job but was commended by the company for the high quality of my interview performance. I cannot thank Nuala enough for the skillful way in which she helped me to turn my interview technique around. Her assistance was more than worth every penny! I was sceptical at first, but I desperately wanted help with quitting smoking. I certainly appreciated the very effective way EM4 managed the whole event, in particular emotive sequences, with a sort of tough love.
I felt unable to express my thanks in the way that I would have liked at the end of the programme at xxxx.
I am writing to you now to say that the event was one of the most memorable that I have been on – its success in no small way being directly attributable to the skill, care and emotion that you invested.
I know from speaking to others around the department that there is a great sense of achievement and togetherness – some ‘magic’ that we all want to see perpetuated. This is perhaps the main concern that we all have – ‘to hold the moment’. Sincere thanks for helping us to gain this most powerful of insights – ‘simple being human is ok.’ Best wishes Tim.
fantastic help thus far. I was glad that the process was able to access memories/feelings to do its
job, without ever once making me feel under pressure or uncomfortable. However, whilst I know
keeping a flow is necessary, a few more occasional breaks would help, as I began to be distracted
from mental images by silly stuff like dryness of mouth and such. Another positive of the session I
would say, would be the teaching of what was being done as the session progressed, allowing the
client to practice themselves when necessary, namely the hand-tap method.
All-in-all, so far, totally successful, and very glad I participated.
The simplistic description of what the Alexander Technique seeks to achieve belies the fact that so much is involved, once one gets started! The first lesson involved lying down and sitting up. Not difficult? Neither is the Technique, but it requires much thought to apply the process, and if benefit is to be gained, practised in between each lesson. I found myself, even after two lessons, applying the Technique at home, standing, sitting, moving, in the car – and of course, on horseback! It was a revelation, becoming so aware of one’s position, and realising that what we perceive as being fact is in fact not so at all – and thus the process begins, of effecting change for the better!
Apart from becoming a more balanced rider, another unexpected benefit arose last week. During a heated discussion at the desk between two angry people, I intervened, but not before remembering my directions “let the neck the free…….” Etc. The effect was dramatic. My posture changed from cowed and insignificant, to authoritative and confident – it was actually remarked upon by colleagues after the altercation, which was calmly and successfully settled.
Alexander Technique – it’s just about sitting up straight isn’t it?
Not a bit of it! I’ve learnt more about myself in the last month than I would have thought possible (even the backache’s gone!) and would recommend it to anyone who has a desire for self improvement.
Many thanks to Don White for his patience and clear explanations and his wonderful sense of humour – thank you!
So I gave it a try, and amazingly after just the one session I was free of my cravings!
I was also taught how to deal with resurgence of cravings, so now, when I feel stressed, I no longer have to resort to smoking, it’s perfect
I am non-smoker, thank you Nuala,
In talking to others everyone feels that the event was really worthwhile, the consensus being that in those few hours you managed to revitalise a drained and tired team. You even left us with the capacity to build on what we learned and improve our working relationships, roles and processes.
Thank you again.Best regards
